What inspired you to launch your own website?
I currently have another website which is devoted to medical billing. (http://www.rlrbillingsolutions.com). It was a greater understanding of SEO that prompted me to launch a site specifically for our optical customers.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
2 years ago: rlrbillingsolutions.com
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It took a long time to decide on a name. It wasn't until recently when I began to study SEO that I selected a name for my site.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Our site is optimized and the goal is to make it the number one resource for Optometric Billing on the internet. It is also dynamic and made with the busy optometrist in mind
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Keep it for income
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Right now i have not realized a net return on my time investment...but it will pay off.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would cross market our service through all media and print marketing outlets. Our service would be present in all large chains, and Optometrists would learn about our service as early as Medical School.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I would have to outsource.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Just the high time demand associated with site SEO
What has been your biggest challenge?
SEO
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Pay-Per-Click marketing.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
I had originally hoped my site would be more popular.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
2+years...until I can't anymore.
