Within ten years from now, we may witness the worlds first synthetic brain. An amazing, but scary thought. Just what are these people planning on doing with a synthetic brain now might I ask?
THere are scientists currently working on the Blue Brain Project in Switzerland. These, highly educated people, shall make an attempt to reverse engineer the mammalian brain.
They will be creating the behaviour of billions of neurons and shall put them into a single computer. In their research, a team created a simulation mimicking a rat's neocortex. I guess those results would be the basis for their theory.
