Even without the ban that the FDA imposed on Darvon and Darvocet, it's really not good to live on painkillers because they could have unknown harmful side effects. All medicines have contraindications and side effects so it's not advisable to take them on a whim.
Some people take painkillers like they take M&Ms, which should not be the case. For all we know, there could be other painkillers that are as harmful or even worse than Darvon and Darvocet.
If we are in pain, the safest medicine that we can take is the paracetamol. Then we should try to get some rest because pain is our body's way of telling us to slow down.
