What inspired you to launch your own website?
Optimum has been established in the UK for over 5 years but has just launched a clinic in Damansara Perdana, KL, Malaysia. Few Podiatrists work in the area, and I am the only British and woman. I want the world toknow we have espanded and that Malaysians and visitors to KL can get reliable treatment from us in a private clinic.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
2 years ago and NOT very informative.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Beacuse that is what I am trying to get people to do...keep their feet fit for life!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It is loaded with free information from a qualified Podiatrist AND you can mail for confidential advice FREE!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I would like people to use the site as a directory for all foot and lower limb problems
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It will in the long run. Podiatry is not a well known speciality in Malaysia - I will be the 3rd and only lady, so it is important to pass free information to people to educate them to understand that foot pain is NOT normal and that specialists are here to help them.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Over time I would like to add products for people to be able to buy - to help them even more!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
YES
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
People do not know what I do...it took 3 years study and an Honours Degree...and I am still learning!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Time to devote to it, especially when my clients needed my attention.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Google and trawling the net for free sites, like yours!
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It takes ages!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
2 years..and forever!
