I haven't watched this program, but I think what you are mentioning is called a Lumbar Puncture. It is when a tiny amount of fluid is removed from next to the spine and diagnosed. I am not sure what is diagnosed from it, but it certainly does not cover every type of diagnosis, it is just one type of diagnosis. Perhaps we could get some feedback from a Doctor here ?
