Is There any Significant Difference between the word Fat and Obese?

If you are overweight, how would you like the people call you, fat or obese? Either of the two words describe you can affect your motivation as to how you look at yourself and other people. Doctors in UK prefer calling their patients "fat" rather than "obese." Basically, the word fat would motivate them well to lose more weight. They get courage upon hearing the word "fat." These two words might have distinction from one another, but the most important thing is that other people must give consideration to the emotional state of the obese/fat person before you utter the word.
