In just the first four months of year, almost 2,000 cases of dengue fever have been reported in Dominican Republic. The government's health ministry says 291 case reached the hemorrhagic stage and 14 has already died.
Dengue fever is caused by mosquito carrying the dengue virus, Aedes Aegypti. The outbreak of the disease has been linked to the drought in country when people gathers much clean stagnant water where these mosquitoes prefer to lay their eggs.
