Philippines former lady president Maria Corazon Aquino which is well known in the country and even around the globe as a promoter of peace had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and on August 01, 2009 she passed away due to Cardio Respiratory Arrest at the Makati Medical Center.
President Aquino marked the history with her strength during the People Power Revolution against the former president Ferdinand E. Marcos. She was also featured as woman of the year at TIME magazine.
