Studies conducted by researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center had found out that the same blue dye, the Brilliant Blue G (BBG) used on M&Ms and Gatorade had the ability to reduce damage caused by spine injuries.
The test was conducted to rodents where they immediately received the dye intravenously after their injury, and managed to walk again limping. The only side effect is that the rodents turned blue.
