Along with other psychotropic medications, studies shows that antidepressant use among U.S. people have doubled between 1996 and 2005.
The study also indicated that antidepressants were the most widely prescribed medications or class of drugs in America, this started back on 1980's when Prozac (fluoxetine) was introduced. And this happened despite the "black box" warning mandated for antidepressant medications by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2004.
